BSG Scientific’s BSG AC unit was independently tested for effectiveness against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, by a third-party lab. In the test report, “SARS-CoV-2 Surrogate Inactivation by BSG AC unit from BSG Scientific,” it was stated that the BSG AC unit repeatedly demonstrated inactivation of more than 99.3% of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in 30 minutes.
The testing was conducted by BCS Laboratories, an ISO/IEC 17025 certified lab based in Florida, USA. BCS Laboratories are also accredited by the US Centers for Disease Control, US Environmental Protection Agency, US Department of Agriculture, and Florida Department of Health.
In the study, the lab used the surrogate Coronavirus OC43 to assess and measure the virucidal properties of the BSG AC unit against SARS-CoV-2 in an enclosed area. Non-porous surfaces were inoculated with the virus and then placed into a glass chamber containing the BSG AC unit for 30 minutes. The success rate of the BSG AC unit, which uses PhotoPlasma technology, shows that it is an effective and hygienic disinfection technology suitable for the disinfection of surfaces as well as air.
